No Place Like Home

There is an old saying that “no place is like home.” For the Igbo nation, this truth has never been more relevant than it is today. Sir Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe wishes to remind all Igbo sons and daughters, both within Nigeria and across the world, that the time has come to redirect our focus toward the development of our homeland.

Since 1970, the Igbo people have demonstrated unmatched resilience, ingenuity, and entrepreneurial spirit. We have risen from the ashes of adversity to become pillars of commerce, education, and innovation across Nigeria and beyond. Yet, despite our success, much of our wealth and investments have been concentrated outside our homeland, leaving our own communities underdeveloped and dependent.

The lessons of history are clear. From the losses suffered during and after the civil war to the numerous political and economic challenges faced by our people in different parts of the country, it is evident that lasting security and progress can only be achieved when we build strong foundations at home. Every investment we make in Ala Igbo strengthens our future, empowers our youth, and preserves our heritage.

This is therefore a clarion call to every Igbo man and woman — business leaders, professionals, artisans, and the diaspora — to bring their investments, skills, and innovations back home. Let us channel our resources into industries, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and technology that will transform our region into a beacon of development and self-reliance.

The time is now. Our land is blessed with talent, fertile soil, and a proud people ready to build. Let us return home, not just with our wealth, but with our wisdom, our energy, and our love for our people. Together, we can make South East a land of prosperity, dignity, and peace for generations to come.

Because truly, there is no place like home.
