Sir Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe’s Advice on the Creation of a New State.
Sir Madualakolam Kenneth Adighibe has advised those representing us in the discussions about creating a new state to think outside the box. he emphasized that what the South East truly needs is a completely new state, not the splitting of any of the existing ones.
According to him, creating a new state will help expand the geographical size of the South East and increase its population, which will bring more growth and balance to the region.
Sir Adighibe also pointed out that there are neighboring areas close to the South East that are made up of pure Igbo communities who genuinely wish to return and be part of the South East geopolitical zone. He therefore encouraged that efforts should be made to create anew state from those areas, instead of dividing any of the existing South Eastern States.
It is time we turn our focus outward-toward the lost Igbo brothers and sisters who remain part of our heritage, our culture, and our destiny by embracing and reconnecting with them, we can expand the reach of Ala Igbo naturally and restore the fullness of our ancestral homeland.
