Liberation from Hunger, Fear and Hopelessness
The NDC Party is embarking on a liberation-based campaign, focusing on three major challenges from which Nigeria needs to be liberated. The campaign is built around the belief that the government of Mr. Peter Gregory Obi and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso can provide a new direction for the country.
1. LIBERATION FROM HUNGER
It is obvious that many Nigerians are struggling with poverty and hardship. Nigeria must move beyond overdependence on crude oil and fully develop its abundant economic resources.
Our agricultural and mineral resources—including palm oil, cocoa, groundnuts, coal and other solid minerals—can be developed to revive industries, create businesses and provide employment opportunities for our youths.
The NDC campaign therefore calls for policies that will promote agriculture, manufacturing, entrepreneurship and local industries, so that Nigerians can have access to food, jobs and sustainable sources of income.
2. LIBERATION FROM FEAR
Nigerians deserve to live in a country where their lives and property are protected.
Our campaign seeks a Nigeria where citizens no longer have to live in constant fear of banditry, kidnapping, violent attacks, communal conflicts and other forms of insecurity.
Security must become a fundamental priority of government. Nigerians should be able to travel, farm, conduct their businesses and sleep peacefully without fear.
We also need responsible economic management that will reduce uncertainty, restore confidence and prevent the country from becoming trapped in unsustainable debt.
3. LIBERATION FROM HOPELESSNESS
Nigeria must also be liberated from the growing feeling of hopelessness among its citizens.
The proposed government of Peter Gregory Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso should provide renewed hope to our numerous unemployed graduates and non-graduates, entrepreneurs, farmers, workers and young people who desire a better future.
It should be a government that promotes:
Hope for unemployed youths and graduates.
Hope for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Stability and growth of the Nigerian economy.
Greater confidence in the Nigerian currency.
Peace, love and unity among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups.
A favourable environment for foreign investors and Nigerians in the diaspora to invest in Nigeria.
Job creation and meaningful opportunities for young Nigerians.
Nigeria has enormous human and natural resources. What is required is an enabling environment where our people can invest, produce, create wealth and build sustainable businesses.
We must build a Nigeria where unity, peace, security, productivity and opportunity are available to every citizen, regardless of tribe, religion or region.
This is the time for a liberation campaign.
Liberation from Hunger.
Liberation from Fear.
Liberation from Hopelessness.
A new Nigeria must be possible—and building it requires the participation of every Nigerian.
