AN SOS CALL TO ALL SOUTH-EAST GOVERNORS
This is an urgent SOS call to all the Governors of the South-East. You took an oath of office to protect lives and property within your respective states. Today, that sacred responsibility is being severely tested.
Armed criminals and bandits appear to be gaining ground under your watch, while innocent citizens are being attacked and killed in broad daylight.
The level of insecurity across parts of Igbo land is alarming and unacceptable. Our people are living in fear, as though we are in a state of war.
We appeal to you to act decisively and utilize the constitutional powers and authority vested in your offices to safeguard our communities. The safety of our people must remain the highest priority.
The painful memories of the Biafran War still linger in the hearts of many families. We cannot afford to witness another era of bloodshed, displacement, and loss.
Those who seek to spread violence and terror must not be allowed to succeed.
This is the time for leaders of South-East extraction to rise above politics and personal interests and take the necessary steps to restore peace, security, and confidence in our land.
The people are crying out for protection.
The time to act is now.
