I humbly appeal to every South Easterner living in Nigeria but outside his hometown to transfer his or her voting centre closer to home.

This will enable us to exercise our civic rights freely and without intimidation.

We have observed that many Northerners usually travel back to their hometowns to cast their votes during elections.

We should also be prepared to do the same.

Secondly, ensure that your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) is ready. Encourage all eligible youths who are 18 years and above to register and obtain theirs as well.

Voting is not only a right; it is a responsibility.

Just as Mr. Peter Obi has a massive movement and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has a strong support base, I, Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe, also lead a growing grassroots movement known as IJERE NETWORK. This organization has consistently stood for good governance, civic participation, and responsible leadership.

Through IJERE NETWORK, we mobilize and register voters, organize seminars, and educate our people on the importance of participating in the electoral process and making effective use of their PVCs.

We believe that active participation is the key to positive change.

We sincerely seek the support of our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora, as well as well-meaning Igbos at home and abroad. While many may not be physically present during elections, they can contribute to this noble cause by supporting voter education and mobilization efforts.

We need logistics, mobility for grassroots campaigns, educational materials, branded T-shirts, and financial support to effectively reach more people.

This is a time for selfless sacrifice. It is a time to work together for freedom from political marginalization, economic hardship, and insecurity.

Every effort made today can help shape a better future for generations to come.

I respectfully call on those in the Diaspora to reach out to friends, relatives, and associates who may be willing and able to support this movement for civic engagement and democratic participation.

Together, through peaceful and lawful participation in the democratic process, we can contribute to building a better society for all.
