Greetings to our respected Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders, Captains of Industry, Market Women and Men, Workers, Students at all levels, the Youth of the South East and North West, and all well-meaning Nigerians.
Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, a Christian from the South East, and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, a Muslim from the North West, represent a ticket that reflects religious and regional balance. Their partnership symbolizes unity, tolerance, and national inclusion. The message of the NDC is simple: “Rescue Mission.”
As the 2027 general election approaches, some governors, ministers, and political office holders from the South East may take their own political positions, but the people will ultimately decide through the ballot box. The masses have the constitutional right to choose the leadership they believe can best serve Nigeria.
Many citizens across the South East, North West, and other geopolitical zones are calling for a government they believe will address the nation’s economic challenges, rising public debt, insecurity, and unemployment. They desire leadership that will protect farmers, improve security in schools and communities, strengthen the military and other security agencies, and tackle banditry and kidnapping more effectively.
There are also growing expectations for greater transparency in the management of public funds, investment in peace and national unity, and policies that encourage economic growth. Many Nigerians hope to see the rehabilitation of local refineries, increased employment opportunities, and affordable energy for households and businesses.
Beyond crude oil, Nigeria possesses many other natural resources that can support industrial development. Reviving industries such as Nigercem, ceramic manufacturing, the Ajaokuta Steel Complex, and other productive sectors could create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and provide opportunities for young people.
I once again call on Nigerian youths to live up to the saying that they are the leaders of tomorrow by participating peacefully and responsibly in the democratic process. Citizens should remain law-abiding, protect the integrity of their votes through lawful means, and continue to advocate for free, fair, and credible elections.
The 2027 election will provide Nigerians with another opportunity to determine the country’s future through democratic participation. As political discussions continue, let every campaign be guided by peace, respect, national unity, and the rule of law. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and together we can build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
