CAMPAIGN WITHOUT BILLBOARD
The Chairman-Elect of the South East Political Influence Organization (SEPLO), Sir Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe, FCNA, has called on people across the South East to adopt alternative and grassroots-oriented methods of campaigning for Mr. Peter Gregory Obi and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sir Maduakolam, popularly known as Ijere Abia, made the call while addressing members of the Village Boys Movement (VBM) for Obi/Kwankwaso in Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State.
He emphasized that Peter Gregory Obi can win the 2027 election without billboards, stressing that a good name and strong grassroots connection are more valuable than billboard publicity. According to him, Obi/Kwankwaso is already a strong political brand that can be effectively marketed through direct community engagement.
He outlined the following strategies:
Family-to-family campaign: Families can display campaign posters of Obi/Kwankwaso, bearing the NDC logo, on their doors and gates, subject to applicable electoral laws and property permissions.
House-to-house mobilisation: Supporters can form groups and engage communities through peaceful, lawful door-to-door advocacy, similar to the method used by religious outreach groups.
Community conversations: Supporters should continue discussing the candidates in their streets, family meetings, clubs and other community gatherings.
Motor park activation: Motor park mobilisation teams and micro-creators can play an important role in taking the campaign message directly to the grassroots.
Use of local languages: Campaign messages and news reports delivered in indigenous languages can communicate more directly with local communities than conventional billboard advertising.
Student and youth engagement: Peaceful campus and youth rallies can help communicate the candidates’ message and strengthen grassroots political participation.
Sir Maduakolam also stated that attempts by political opponents to use idle youths to obstruct Peter Obi’s political movement could, in some instances, unintentionally increase public attention and awareness of his candidacy.
In conclusion, the Chairman of SEPIO, Sir Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe, announced a donation of 300 (three hundred) branded T-shirts bearing the Obi/Kwankwaso campaign message to his constituency for ongoing campaign activities.
He encouraged supporters and well-meaning individuals to contribute whatever they can, within the law, toward a successful campaign for Peter Gregory Obi and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso in the 2027 election.
