Unite for Progress: Sir Adighibe Pushes for Strategic Vision to Secure South East’s Next Decade

Sir Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe, FCNA, has called on notable political leaders, top-tier entrepreneurs, traditional rulers (Ndi Eze), the youth, and all key stakeholders of the South East geopolitical zone to unite under their various umbrella bodies and deliberate on the future of the region.

He emphasized the urgent need to reflect on where we are coming from, assess where we stand today in politics and development, and—most importantly—chart where we intend to be in the next ten years. According to Sir Adighibe, this long-term vision is crucial for the sustainable growth and transformation of the South East.

He reminded the people of the region that Lagos is not our home, neither will Abuja ever be our home, stressing the importance of building and developing the South East into a place of equal economic opportunity, prestige, and modern infrastructure.

Sir Adighibe therefore proposed the creation of a comprehensive ten-year master plan, complete with a sustainable budget framework, to reposition the South East to attain the economic strength and infrastructural excellence of Lagos and Abuja in the near future.

He noted that the South East is blessed with capable political leaders and highly accomplished entrepreneurs whose voices, if united, can make a powerful and transformative impact. He further highlighted that the region’s mineral resources, technological potential, and human capital—when properly harnessed—will serve as the backbone for this development blueprint.

Sir Maduakolam Kenneth Adighibe urged all stakeholders to rise to the occasion and take collective responsibility for shaping the destiny of the South East for generations to come.
