NDC: THE HOPE OF THE COMMON MAN AND A RESCUE MISSION FOR 2027

The NDC is a new and fast-growing political party built on a strong foundation, with three prominent pillars: Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Senator Seriake Dickson.

The NDC does not have access to the kind of financial resources available to the APC, which has the advantage of being in government and controlling public resources. Therefore, the NDC must be strategic, organized, and united in its approach to the 2027 elections.

Mr. Peter Obi has been engaging with Nigerians across different sectors and communities, including universities, markets, hospitals, and Nigerians in the Diaspora, with the aim of building stronger connections and earning their support. His running mate is also doing his best to strengthen the party’s presence in the Northern part of the country, while Senator Seriake Dickson continues to contribute his own efforts toward protecting the image of the party and strengthening its national presence.

Stakeholders at various levels must urgently work to harmonize and unite like-minded individuals around a common interest and a shared purpose: winning the 2027 election.

By now, there should be a strong and functional working committee from the national level down to the grassroots, established and supported by the relevant stakeholders. Campaign activities will soon commence, and we all know that winning elections in Nigeria requires a strong grassroots structure built on trust, commitment, capacity, and integrity.

At this critical stage, stakeholders must put aside personal egos and the struggle over who gets what position. The RESCUE MISSION can only succeed if everyone plays a positive and meaningful role. Winning the election is not the responsibility of Mr. Peter Obi, his running mate, or the top party leaders alone. It is a collective responsibility.

If I am permitted to make a suggestion, the stakeholders should, by now, consider establishing a fundraising committee made up of credible and trustworthy individuals in Nigeria and the Diaspora to support the campaign movement. Our traditional leaders should also encourage well-to-do men and women in their communities to support the political movement around Mr. Peter Obi.

This is not the time for organizations, churches, community groups, and individuals to expect heavy financial donations from Mr. Peter Gregory Obi. Rather, this is the time for everyone who believes in the rescue of Nigeria to invest in the movement, either through financial contributions, ideas, networks, or other forms of support.

After the election, there will naturally be opportunities for those who contribute to the political process to participate in governance and public service. However, the ultimate goal should not be personal gain but the collective interest of Nigerians and the rebuilding of our country.

For Nigeria to be truly salvaged, this cannot be a one-man show. All hands must be on deck. Every stakeholder, supporter, organization, community, and well-meaning Nigerian must contribute their quota toward building a stronger political structure capable of delivering the change Nigerians desperately need.

The time to organize is now. The time to unite is now. The time to act is now.
