ALL EYES ON NDC
The popular saying that “a new broom sweeps better than the old” is expected to play out in the 2027 elections. The Nigeria Democratic Congress is positioning itself as a new and fast-growing political force ahead of the polls.
Across the country, and especially in Abia State the party is working to strengthen its internal structure and resolve outstanding issues before the official campaign period begins. This includes addressing grievances that emerged from the primaries to reduce the risk of defections and ensure unity within the party.
The focus is also on building a credible manifesto, presenting acceptable candidates, and adopting strategies that can earn the trust of voters. Emphasis is being placed on discipline, integrity, and effective coordination at the polling unit level, which are seen as critical factors for electoral success.
Party stakeholders and caucus members are expected to work together with a shared understanding of the goal of winning the 2027 elections. Cooperation and internal stability are considered essential to building momentum and sustaining support.
There is also a push to ensure that candidates presented by the party have a relatable and human-centered approach to campaigning, making it easier to connect with voters across different communities.
