A Nation in Distress: Why I Have Been Silent
I sincerely apologize to my people at home and in the diaspora who have missed my articles for some time now. My silence was not out of neglect, but out of deep pain and concern over the disturbing situation in our country today.
It has been difficult for me to write when insecurity continues to rise and political victimization grows worse by the day. The fear, uncertainty, and suffering faced by ordinary citizens weigh heavily on my heart.
Sadly, the Electoral Amendment Acts have left many things in disarray, and it now seems as though the centre can no longer hold. Instead of focusing on the safety and welfare of the people, the attention of those in power appears to be shifting mainly toward the next election.
At a time when lives and properties should be protected with utmost seriousness, the priorities of leadership seem misplaced. My hope and prayer remain that our nation will find the courage, wisdom, and unity needed to restore peace, justice, and security for all.
